SOUTH FLORIDA REALTY

CENTURY VILLAGE IN WEST PALM BEACH

Century Village is situated on 29 acres just east of Florida’s turnpike with its two secured gates located on Okeechobee Blvd. and on Haverhill Rd. The Village boasts 7,854 units in 356 buildings, with 309 associations (corporations). There is no master association (unique in the State of Florida). Rather, the United Civic Organization (UCO) acts as an advisory group to the associations who send delegates to UCO meetings. Their community newspaper is the UCO Reporter which is operated by the UCO board.

The Clubhouse is not owned by the associations, but by Beneson Capitol Corporation in New York. It is managed by WPRF, Inc. UCO pays for the operations of the clubhouse and oversees its operations.

The restoration of the Clubhouse which was destroyed with hurricane Frances took forever.
The building is now complete, and boast a magnificent theater.  There is a large party room, a card room, a meeting room, a billiard room,  and an interior and exterior swimming pool, a shuffleboard, and handball and racket ball courts.

The new building is beautiful. Everything was remodeled and upgraded. While there are no hurricane shutters for the clubhouse’s windows, high impact resistant windows were installed. It would appear that future storms will not be a threat to it.
